Bold and bright

With summer now officially here (by calendar, if not by temperature), it’s time to bring out the bold and bright colours. Even if your wardrobe is mostly black on black (hey, we’ve all been there), you can add in a little pop of colour with some gorgeous accessories – my post today has been inspired by this gorgeous Saben bag…

Put a bit of a wiggle in your walk with a gorgeous bodycon dress that will flaunt your curves – I love this midi length and I’ve been wearing a lot of bodycon dresses lately so this is just screaming my name.

I love orange and think it’s great paired with neutral colours (especially black and navy) or with other summer brights. This light long sleeeved top would be perfect for those crisper evenings, looking stylish with a black pencil skirt.

I’m really sad that this shade of yellow doesn’t work with my skintone, because it’s so pretty! I’d wear this blazer to brighten up a work outfit or cap off the perfect summer frock on a sunny day.

Yes, more bodycon – this time in a bright pop of blue. I prefer the neckline on this one as I don’t personally like to wear high necked things, and that midi length is just perfect. Feeling extra bold? Pair this cobalt dress with an orange or yellow blazer.

A cut that flatters, a skirt that swishes and a bright poppy red to help you stand out from the crowd? Swoon! Love love love this!

One of the things I love about summer is being able to wear beautifully drapey pieces like this – I love the soft floaty look that’s perfects for those hot summer nights.

Peplum is still super popular, helping to define the waist and skim over the hips. Sadly peplum only works for me if it’s very long (because I have such a full bust), so for now I shall have to live vicariously through everyone else’s peplum purchases!

Thanks to my ginger hair and pale skin that goes olive in summer, this colour is one that looks amazing on me. Green isn’t for everyone, but I think if it’s done in the right way (and this top certainly is) then it can be stunning.
