I really love the warm, rich tones of autumn. I know that winter has already begun, but for my Aussie Curves post this week, I wanted to celebrate the delicious autumnal shades of nature.
On Saturday my boyfriend and I drove down to Taupo to spend time with family, and I have to say it is so beautiful down there at this time of year!
I dressed warm for a day on the boat – velvet leggings (yes, velvet! I can’t stop stroking my legs when I wear these…), a warm vest underneath (because layering is all-important when it’s cold), a long sleeved crop top and a dress. I also had a big coat on but didn’t end up wearing it much – the day was surprisingly mild!
Crop tops in winter? Oh heck yes! I’ve worn this one under a dress with short sleeves for a little bit of extra warmth, but that’s just one of the ways I’m planning on wearing crop tops in winter! The lovely Shawna from Chubby Cartwheels made me a few custom pieces recently, including this crop top and the velvet leggings, so you can expect to see a lot more winter crop top goodness here!

Thanks to my lovely boyfriend for patiently taking these photos for me. I usually take my own outfit photos, but I dropped my camera and smashed the lens last week – epic fail! Luckily my boyfriend is also a photographer #howconvenient
So, that’s my nature post – luxe autumn colours and fabrics while swanning about in someone’s driveway. I mean, in nature. I love how my hair fits right in with the fading colours of the leaves!

Yes! Everyone needs velvet leggings, they’re amazing. And man, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love being in nature. Getting out of the city is the best. I need to make time to go on hikes and shiz.
